Peace is sorely needed in southern Sudan
During the last few days we have had the opportunity to see on the television screen turought Rai2 some
of the most horrible, miserable and painful scenes of the war that stil cancelling the normal life in Southern
Sudan Since the year 1983. We had sean how miserable is the condition of life in there, we saw children and sick
old or even young people die just due to hunger and shortage of a very simple medicine. The Liberation Struggle
of Southern Sudanese has a very high price , the people of the south are dieing in dozen every pussing day whether
there is a fighting or a seize fire.
Such is life in Sudan, decades of sutfering and the whole world is watching, but we couldn' t see any positive
move from eitner sides of wan to stop the sutfering of the innocent and simple south Sudan citizens. On the other
hand the international comunity seems, obviously to be not really interested or have any intention to restore hope!
To press upon the government of Khartoum until the achievement of a peaceful and lasting solution. What is really
needed is peace. Peace would be approached by folloving the route of sincere negotiations on the whole issue. The
question to be raised conserns how to engineer an amicable separation of the south from the north so that is much
that wile need to be worked out by all sides in any negatiation a permanent and internationally monitored seize
fire; the mechanies of a self-determination referendum; the organization of the interim period and what is to be
accomplished during it. hence the conclusion is that peace is sorely needed and ought to have been achieved long
time ago to stop the inhuman sutferingin Sudan.
